BN’s Pulau Pinang Chairman has always been Gerakan for over 35 years. After the 2008 General Election, Gerakan lost their entire state assembly seat. And currently, from all BN component party, only UMNO has seats at Pulau Pinang state assembly. It has enough reason for the UMNO’s Chairman of Pulau Pinang to claim the position as the Chairman of BN at Pulau Pinang.
UMNO’s Chairman of Pulau Pinang, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, the claimed has been decide for a long time but only announced recently. He is also claimed that Gerakan doesn’t make any plan for the future of BN in Pulau Pinang. He also said, if Gerakan doesn’t do it, we will. It is not as coup, but only for a better future for BN in Pulau Pinang.
BN’s Pulau Pinang Chairman, Koh Tsu Koon meanwhile said the issue doesn’t need to be discussed as any future change will be denied by Gerakan.
