The State Government is still negotiating with the Federal Government regarding the settlement of petroleum royalty payments to states that still retained. Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said the state government still rejected the offer royalty payments made before by the Ministry of Finance of RM1.686 billion.
He asserted that, because of the total royalties that will be claimed by the state government for the period 2000 to 2009 amounting to RM2.792 billion. He stated that during the question raised by Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (Pas-Rhu Rendang) in the State Legislative Assembly here today.
"Ministry of Finance seems is still not moved from the earlier decision to reimburse only RM1.686 billion. But the figure is not agreed upon by the state government, so as long as this issue is not resolved, the agreement will not be signed,"
